Barefoot Rebel

Barefoot Rebel is an authentic tribute playing the 1970's Lynyrd Skynyrd band's music.  Playing Casinos and Festivals to great critical acclaim and audience reaction, this IS the only true tribute to Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd. Other bands attempt to recreate the magic of Lynyrd Skynyrd, but no band comes close to Barefoot Rebel.

Barefoot Rebel plays it as close to note for note as it gets, so people can hear how it’s supposed to sound from the 70s era.  It’s sad that Lynyrd Skynyrd isn’t around anymore because they were all so talented and they just started to get rolling in their careers, but if you want to know what they sounded like then come to a Barefoot Rebel show.

6:30 PM

The Boston Globe calls SIRSY “the little band with the big sound.” SXSW Music Blog says “SIRSY is NOT simply a two piece, the sound they make is a head scratching, WOW!” SIRSY is fronted by singer/songwriter Melanie Krahmer who has “one of the most powerful and flexible voices you’ll ever hear.” (–Times Union). She’s also the band’s drummer. And at live shows, Mel plays bass on a keyboard with her drumstick, piano, & throws in a few mean flute solos too. Guitarist, co-writer, and Mel’s husband, Rich Libutti plays a road worn and well-loved Rickenbacker guitar through a pedal board full of vintage effects. Live, Rich also plays bass on a pedalboard with his feet. So, these multi-instrumentalists manage to sound like a full band, despite there being just two of them. And somehow, they do it all with big smiles on their faces. It’s clear they love what they do. And that love is contagious when you see them live.

Providence, Rhode Island may not be the first city one thinks of when pondering where a country singer got their start, but Charlie Marie is here to prove that “everywhere has a country side.” Just like ‘Ole Waylon said, “Country music isn’t a guitar, isn’t a banjo, isn’t a melody, it isn’t a lyric.  It’s a feeling.”

7:45 PM
