Meet the

General Chairman

Chuck MacDonough

General Chairman

Bristol Fourth of July Committee

Our 100% volunteer committee is working full speed ahead planning events and raising funds for the 236th Bristol Fourth of July Celebration.  It is hard to believe that this tradition continuous in this quaint Town of Bristol 235 years later.  This Oldest, Continuous Fourth of July Celebration began in 1785 when Rev. Henry Wight of the First Congregational Church and a Veteran of the Revolutionary War conducted the first Patriotic Exercises.

Our celebration has changed over the years.  We officially kick off our celebration on Flag Day and end with our annual two and half mile Military, Civic, and Fireman’s Parade. The celebration continues in this Patriotic town throughout the entire year.  We have our Miss 4th of July Pageant, Cultural Event, Military Picnic, Old Fashion Days, Vintage Baseball, Block Party, Carnival, Road Race, ½ Marathon, Orange Crate Derby, two week concert series in Independence Park with a finale concert with fireworks on the 3rd of July.

This would not be possible without the generosity of our community and sponsors.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, volunteering, or joining this amazing committee please reach out to me directly at

Thank you for your continued support.
