Michael Hoffman – Community Leader & Owner of Reliable Pest Control

Michael Hoffman is a dedicated community leader, business owner, and lifelong resident of Bristol. As the owner of Reliable Pest Control, Michael has built his business on the same principles that guide his life—hard work, integrity, and a deep commitment to serving others.

Michael’s passion for community service has made a lasting impact across Bristol. Over the years, he has generously given his time and leadership to numerous organizations that strengthen and support the community. He previously served as a Board of Trustees member at Mount Hope Farm, where he stepped in as Acting Director during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing steady leadership during an unprecedented and uncertain time. He is also a former board member of the James D. Reilly Foundation, a long-time committee member of the Bristol Christmas Festival, and proudly served as Captain of the Bristol Fire Police.

His dedication to community service has earned him several prestigious honors, including the 2018 Vicki Van Voast Memorial Award, the 2019 Dottie Cordeiro Spirit of Christmas Award, and the 2019 Golden Pheasant Award. In 2025, Michael received one of the community’s highest recognitions when he was named the Freedom & Independence Division Grand Marshal, honoring his years of unwavering commitment to the town he proudly calls home.

Michael continues to give back through his active involvement with Habitat for Humanity and as a Life Member of the Hydraulion Engine & Hose Company No. 1. He is also a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the Bristol Ladies Auxiliary, particularly their cherished Community Christmas Toy Drive, helping ensure local families experience the joy of the holiday season.

Michael shares his life with his wife, Jody and their son, AJ. Michael began working at Reliable Pest Control at just 18 years old.  Family is at the heart of everything Michael does.

Outside of his business and volunteer work, Michael is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys snowmobiling, boating, jet skiing, and is a passionate motorcycle enthusiast.

Through leadership, service, family, and generosity, Michael Hoffman continues to embody the spirit of community that makes Bristol such a special place to live.
